CFM Global
My Role:
Lead Designer & Project Manager
Project type:
Web Design
Tools used:
Adobe Suite, Figma, Wordpress
Main Problem
The site was broken and outdated, with unusable links and faulty components blocking key user journeys. Because it wasn’t editable, the team couldn’t correct errors or ship updates. The result was declining trust, poor SEO performance, missed revenue opportunities, and a tarnished brand image.
Deliverables
In redesigning the CFM Global website, I not only created files within Figma as well as built the site in WordPress, but I also needed to standardize branding elements like colors, logos, and fonts.

Wordpress site
I transferred designs from the approved Figma file and implemented them into WordPress.
Figma design files
I created a full Figma file including design systems, color schemes, and user interactions.
My Process
In developing a new website, I like to take the same three steps to ensure I meet users' needs as well as meet stakeholder expectations.
Discover
First, I conduct an extensive research phase where I examine current systems and identify what works, as well as what does not. From there, I also examine industry standards and conduct competitor audits, as well as create user personas, to better understand the end user.
For CFM Global, the current website was not designed with consideration for why people would want to visit the website. To address this issue, I created a user-centered information center where people can learn about CFM Global, its services, its products, and how it differs from other manufacturers.

Once I better understand the problems a user is facing, I start designing. Here is where I utilize all the research from the first phase to create paths for the user to follow and find what they are looking for. Often this takes a few iterations, but in the end it creates clear paths for the user to navigate the new website.
For CFM Global, numerous functional design features needed to be updated, including fixing broken links, ensuring all text was visible, and creating a cohesive look for the entire website. One feature I wanted to include on this new site was product highlights that allow CFM to show off new products while creating a centralized location for people to go and learn about the company and what they do, as before, the only contact on products was through calling the sales team.
Design
Validate
Lastly, I needed to validate that the site not only functions as expected, but also meets the needs of users and stakeholders. This involves testing as well as reiterating designs to ensure that I am adhering to what is expected of the company as a whole.
CFMGlobal.com is an ongoing project that receives continuous updates and new variations. The current project is updating the existing framework to transition away from WordPress and adopt a more modern framework, such as React.js or Next.js. Additionally, we are working on creating a customer portal and enhancing our online shopping experience for our customers.
Result
With the new design, the website as a whole now has a much more focused mission of informing interested parties of who CFM Global is, as well as what they provide. A few additions include creating a marketing email list that allows the team to communicate directly with their audience on upcoming events and product launches. Another feature to note is the clear call to action at the top of the page, instantly directing users to either our products or who we are, making it simple for users to find what they are on the site for.
As mentioned before, this site is under consistent construction. As of now, the current CFM site is a middle step between these 2 products, as it was vital to get a site that has functional links up and running before I moved on to a more finalized look.
